We’ve invested in a new 3D scanner at Woodseats

Updated: May 19, 2022

OCT helps to safeguard eye health by providing a detailed picture of the back of the eye. It is a highly advanced screening system that checks for potentially serious conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, age-related macular degeneration, vitreous detachments and more.

As part of our Covid-19 secure measures, we have incorporated OCT scans into all of our examinations. We capture a digital photograph of the surface of the eye to cross-reference areas of concern and as a benchmark for future scans.

It’s a big investment for a small, independent business, but one that enhances the service that we can offer to our patients, so it’s worth it.

We also offer 3D imaging at our Crosspool practice. Follow the link for more information.
