We’re raising awareness of the dangers of smoking on eye health

As No Smoking Day approaches, we’re raising awareness of the significant dangers that smoking poses to eye health. Smoking doubles the risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD), which is one of the leading causes of sight loss in the UK. Smokers are also at increased risk of developing cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.

If you’re a smoker and concerned about your eye health, we’d encourage you to book an eye examination at Alex Gage Family Optometrist.
