We’re delighted to announce that the first Hearing Clinic UK service in South Yorkshire has opened within our practice at Sandygate Road, Crosspool.
Operated by audiologist Nicolas Auffret HCPC, the clinic offers a range of services including hearing aids, tinnitus treatments and Microsuction ear wax removal. Of the launch, Mr Auffret said: “We’re delighted to open South Yorkshire’s first Hearing Clinic UK at Alex Gage’s Crosspool practice and to celebrate World Hearing Day on 3rd March, we’re offering free ear wax removal worth £50 for people over 50 during week commencing 4th March.
“11 million people across the UK have a hearing loss- that’s 1 in 6 of us, yet only 40% of those who need hearing aids have them. Untreated hearing loss can have some psychological and mental impact decreasing the quality of life.
“The Hearing Clinic UK is a family run business with over 60 years’ experience and our clinical team have been hand selected for their expertise and patient care. We look forward to improving the hearing of the people of Sheffield.”
Optometrist Alex Gage is delighted to offer the services of the Hearing Clinic UK. “There’s a natural synergy between the work that we do and the people who need our services, so it’s a logical fit and we look forward to working with Nicolas.”
Organised by the World Health Organisation, World Hearing Day is held on 3 March each year to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world. This year’s theme is Check your Hearing and aims to raise awareness of the importance of early identification and intervention for hearing loss.
