National Eye Health Week starts today and our Crosspool retinal imaging equipment supplier, Optos has shared their top tips for eye health.
To mark National Eye Health Week (20-26th September) here are four simple tips that can help protect your vision:
- Book Regular Exams – Attending regular check-ups with your optician should be your first port of call. Many eye diseases can be prevented or treated more successfully if detected early.
- Invest in Advanced Imaging – Advanced imaging technology such as optomap shows more than 82% of your retina, versus 15% in a basic exam.
- Get Moving – Regular exercise can help prevent eye diseases. Cardiovascular exercises lower the pressure in your eyes while increasing blood flow to the optic nerve and retina.
- Adopt the 20-20-20 Approach – For every 20 minutes of screen time, look away for 20 seconds and focus on something 20 metres away.
