Crosspool man’s delight at competition win

A  Crosspool man is delighted after winning a £500 bike in a competition.

When John Hurd visited Alex Gage Family Optometrist in Sandygate Road for an eye examination and was inspired to enter a competition to win a bike, little did he expect to win.

Of the prize, a FELT QX 75 hybrid, John said; “I was over the moon when Alex rang to tell me that I’d won.  I work at the university and I’m looking forward to the warmer weather when I’ll be able to cycle to work and enjoy rides out into the Peak District. Not only do I now have healthy eyes thanks to my Crizal Transitions lenses but I’ll have a healthy body too!”

Optometrist Alex Gage is equally delighted that the winner of the national competition should come from his practice; “Mr and Mrs Hurd are relatively new patients at the Crosspool practice, so I’m really pleased that they have won this fantastic prize.”

The competition was organised by Essilor, who supply the high performance Crizal Transitions adaptive lenses.

John concluded; “It’s really ironic because my wife suggested that I enter the competition and said that I would win!  I’ll be asking her to choose the lottery numbers this weekend!”
